Celebrating a milestone birthday with my family . Beautiful house . Each guest had their own shower room en-suite. The most comfortable big beds with good quality linen . Lovely and warm with underfloor heating downstairs (the dog child appreciated this) more than enough kitchen equipment and crockery. Lovely location. The weather was appalling but this didn’t stop us having a lovely cosy 5 days. We did brave the run from the patio to the hot tub which was very much appreciated by all of us. Hot tub could be a bit bigger to accommodate a full house but there is a larger communal one on the other side of the fence if needed. We couldn’t find the table tennis room and as we were the only guests staying there was no one to ask. The private road leading to the property is appallingly bad with HUGE pot holes do you must be mindful of this and it’s a single track road which might prove a problem when all the cottages are occupied. There is literally one passing place . Couldn’t fault the property it was fabulous , would love to go back but it is a tad expensive unless all the guests are sharing the cost . Would def recommend.

First class, very modern comfortable accommodation. Hot tub constantly in use by all of family. Kitchen very well equipped and very spacious. All en-suite spacious bedrooms. Log fire was a plus. Five minute drive into Bambrough or twenty minutes walk across fields with styles then local road. Definitely recommend it.

With a little more love could be a great place Positive: The Duke was spacious and very well stocked to host 8 people with regards to pots and pans and plates etc, the exterior was very aesthetically pleasing and clean. Beds were clean and plentiful towels. Voucher for tennis was nice the sausages voucher we used and the butchers was delicious. Fire was lovely and ample amount of logs provided. Showers were nice and powerful(but need to see next point) but as it was a wet room your feet get wet if you go to the loo a little later ( even if you did use the squeegee). Plenty parking spaces. Negative: The hottub for a 8 birth apartment was only 4 man, the kitchen looked clean but many dirty dishes at the back of the racks and many of them had hairline cracks, the oven wasn't clean. There are 2 dishwashers which is ideal but you were only supplied 3 tablets for the 3 days which I feel is a little disappointing considering the price, only 2 teatowels and 3 black bags. It was great getting first shower of the day as if you were last to get dressed you had a cold shower. Generally the place could do with a deep clean, under sofas and in-between sofa cushions etc.
