Birdsong Cottage

Charming yet modern cottage in a rural setting perfect for beach walks in Bamburgh and exploring the local area. Positive: Great location. Everything in the kitchen you would need to prepare meals. Tv with Netflix unexpected. Very comfy bed! Clean modern bathrooms. Negative: It is unfortunate that the bridge over the river is being repaired for a number of months and the works can be very noisy. Such a shame as the location is so rural and off the beaten track, perfect for a quiet, peaceful holiday ‘ in nature’. Staying between Monday and Friday was a disadvantage for us as this is when the works were being carried out. The weekends will be unaffected.

Positive: The cottage was a good size and lovely to have two bedrooms and a lovely bathroom for each. The upper bedroom with a walk in wardrobe area. Lots of hot water available efficient heating. Didn't need the log burner! The seating was ample and comfortable downstairs. Great games room thoroughly enjoyed. The vouchers for activities locally appreciated. Welcome pack a nice touch. Negative: The downstairs bedroom and bathroom doors would not close/ stay closed. A bit of a nuisance. Also, very wet floor in the games room to be noted. Did not use outside area, but wonder,with dogs, if a separating fence would be needed between the cottages? Also, noise from bridge work opposite, just started. Guests need to know this and that a diversion to property is in force.

Beautiful cottage Positive: Beautiful, well equipped, modern yet cosy… everything we could have needed! The welcome gifts were a nice touch! Games room a real hit! Central to lots of wonderful locations in Northumberland. We had a wonderful time here. Negative: N/A

Second visit to Birdsong Cottage, just as we remembered, very clean, everything you could need, everything seems to be quality, excellent cottage in an excellent location

Second time in Spindlestone stayed in sister cottage Babbleburn last time and Birdsong last weekend. Both properties equally as beautiful so much so we added on a few extra night when we were there. Cottage was beautiful and well equipped. Love the log burner and the games room was good fun too. We will definitely be back next year.
