The Hamlet

This is an excellent little apartment. It is in a basement, but there are opening windows and it worked for my wife and I. The apartment is extremely well fitted. One of the best. Full kitchen with dishwasher (a must for us, who wants to wash pots on vacation?). Lovely bathroom with one of those square end baths with a shower over. No handles but the towel rail is right by the end so hold that getting in and out. Bedroom has good bed we slept soundly, tv is good to have. Plenty wardrobe space. Lounge has this huge top of line TV, wow high res indeed. The location is great with always available street parking outside. Right near Fisherman's wharf with a car park looking out to the "mouth" of the Tyne, and lots of fresh fish. Good Chinese right behind the flat 2 minutes walk. The only downside was we missed a fan. We opened the windows but got a lot of little flies come in. But its really a good place and very well located for Tynemouth.

Looking forward to our next stay at ‘The Hamlet’ Positive: Everything !! Very clean, comfortable, cosy, well equipped - all you could need, easy parking, TV in bedroom - a nice touch. Easy access and then departure instructions. Negative: Only negative would be lack of a vacuum cleaner as we stayed for 4 weeks.

The Hamlet is a great place to stay when in Tynemouth. It has all the amenities you need for your stay, including well stocked cutlery and grocery, pots and pans. Even oil, coffee and herbs/spices! Brilliant. The sofa is comfy, tv massive and has freesat choices. The heating is efficient and warms the place fast on chilly evenings. The bed is comfy, bathroom large, with little packets of shampoo and body wash. All of these little touches add up and make your stay comfortable and home from home. The apartment is on the main road but we heard very little traffic noise and very little seagull noise! (Unlike an earlier stay in Tynemouth centre!) It’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Tynemouth, 11 mins to the metro station which has a fabulous market on weekends. All in all - The Hamlet was a fabulous stay and we would definitely recommend and stay there again in the future.
