The Georgian Suite @ The Merchants

Positive: My partner and I from Scotland booked a last minute Easter escape in Northumbria and we were honoured to be the first guests to stay in this newly opened and beautiful accommodation, the renovation of which has clearly been a labour of love for the owners. Full of old original features like wooden doors, handles, shutters and cornicing and tastefully decorated, it had a really luxurious, warm and welcoming feel. It was kitted out with so many extra touches : bath robes, slippers, toiletries and the biggest fluffiest white towels ever! Good WiFi connection, handy keyless entry and the very large bed was extremely comfortable. Everything down to the kitchen crockery and lovely lemony hand wash was beautifully chosen and the space well designed. Angela the owner was extremely welcoming and communicative. We ate in the neighbouring Turkish restaurant called Mavi (highly recommend!). Great location for exploring the local and surrounding area and parking in the nearby car park presented no problems.
